In the fields of global trade and small and medium-sized enterprises, the efficiency of capital turnover has always been a challenge that cannot be ignored. In traditional banking systems, funds often take several days during the clearing process, which not only affects the cash flow of suppliers but may also lead to the loss of business opportunities. To address this pain point, a new financial model is emerging.
The application of blockchain technology is redefining the relationship between payment and financing. A company named Huma Finance has launched the world's first PayFi (Payment Financing) network, which tightly integrates payment with financing. Through this system, businesses can collateralize accounts receivable or invoices on-chain and immediately obtain liquidity from a stablecoin fund pool, enabling instant payment for orders and significantly improving the efficiency of capital utilization.
This model benefits not only enterprises but also provides new opportunities for investors. Liquidity providers can earn stablecoin yields and additional token rewards by participating in the liquidity pool. At the same time, the system has also designed an inherent deflationary mechanism, where a portion of the fees paid by borrowers is used to repurchase and burn tokens, in order to maintain the long-term stability of the token price.
On a technical level, Huma Finance has chosen to build its 2.0 version on the Solana blockchain, expected to launch in April 2025. The new version will offer two optional modes: the Classic mode allows users to earn approximately 10.5% annualized returns using USDC while also receiving basic point rewards; the details of the other mode have not yet been announced but are expected to provide more diversified investment options.
This innovative financial model is expected to address the efficiency issues in traditional payment systems, providing businesses with more flexible capital management solutions. As blockchain technology continues to evolve and be applied, we may see more similar financial innovations that further promote global trade and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. However, this emerging model also faces challenges such as regulation and risk control, which require continuous improvement and adjustments in practice.
