The National Development and Reform Commission has clarified that Blockchain is included in the new infrastructure, pointing out the direction for industry development.
Recently, the head of the Department of Innovation and High Technology Development of the National Development and Reform Commission responded to questions regarding the construction of new infrastructure at a regular press conference, which has attracted widespread attention from all sectors of society.
The person in charge stated that the new infrastructure mainly covers three aspects:
First is the information infrastructure. This mainly refers to the infrastructure generated based on the development of the new generation of information technology, including communication network infrastructure represented by 5G, the Internet of Things, industrial internet, and satellite internet, new technology infrastructure represented by artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and blockchain, as well as computing power infrastructure represented by data centers and intelligent computing centers.
The second is the integration of infrastructure. This refers to the new type of infrastructure formed by deeply applying technologies such as the Internet, big data, and artificial intelligence to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional infrastructure, such as smart transportation infrastructure and smart energy infrastructure.
The third is innovative infrastructure. This mainly refers to those infrastructures with public welfare attributes, used to support scientific research, technological development, and product development, such as major scientific and technological infrastructures, educational and scientific infrastructures, and industrial technology innovation infrastructures, etc.
It is worth noting that as early as the Central Economic Work Conference at the end of 2018, infrastructure construction was redefined, incorporating emerging technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, industrial internet, and the internet of things into the category of "new infrastructure construction." At this press conference, the National Development and Reform Commission further clarified the important position of blockchain technology as a key infrastructure of the new infrastructure, pointing the way for future development.
