Ethiopia suspends the distribution of electricity licenses for Bitcoin mining, with 25 companies already in operation.

[Chain News] On August 11, it was reported that due to capacity constraints, Ethiopia has suspended the distribution of new electricity licenses to crypto asset mining companies. This decision was made amid a surge in interest in Bitcoin mining. Currently, 25 Bitcoin mining companies are operational, with nearly 20 more awaiting approval, mainly benefiting from Ethiopia's low electricity prices and abundant hydropower resources.
