A trader accidentally destroyed PUMP at $58,000

Blockchain researcher Chang Min Yu accidentally burned PUMP tokens worth ~$58,000. He mistook them for spam while cleaning the wallet on Solana.

Min Yu bought coins for $40,000 during the Pump.fun token sale. The sale ended in 12 minutes. After the listing, the price of PUMP increased by 45%, to $0.005827.

The trader used the burn function on Axiom Exchange to remove spam tokens. He accidentally selected and destroyed PUMP.

Min Yu did not know about the error for several hours. He saw a tweet from Lookonchain about a user who burned coins from the "meme factory" and recognized his address in it.
The trader said in a conversation with Decrypt that he was not upset, but laughed and shared the story with his friends.

"Since it has already happened and nothing could be changed, there was nothing to worry about. One of my life rules: focus on what you can control," he stated.

Min Yu admitted that he did not believe in the long-term growth of the coin. He planned to open a short position on PUMP while holding the assets purchased for $40,000 for hedging.

Jokingly, he added that he could launch a meme coin Fuck Pump and profit from his mistake by presenting it as a well-thought-out campaign against Pump.fun.

According to Solscan, other traders also burned PUMP, but for smaller amounts. For example, one lost $1627, while another accidentally included a package of spam coins PUMP worth $837.
