Israel calls for 'protecting' the Druze near Damascus, Syria
Jinshi data news on March 2nd, the Israeli Defense Minister said that the Druze minority living in the town of Jaramana south of Damascus is under attack by the new Syrian regime. He ordered the Israeli army to be prepared to help "protect" them when necessary. "We will not allow Syrian terrorists or radical Islamic regimes to harm the Druze," Israeli Defense Minister Katz said in a statement. "If this regime harms the Druze, we will also harm it." Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Israel "will not allow" armed forces related to the Syrian transitional government to enter the southern area of Damascus, and emphasized that the southern part of Syria should achieve "thorough non-militarization."
