Américo Ramos has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe.

On January 14th, Jinshi Data learned from the Sao Tome and Principe News Agency that President Nova signed a presidential decree on the 12th, appointing the current Central Bank President of Sao Tome and Principe, Amelico Ramos, as the new Prime Minister of the country. On January 12th local time, Ilza Amado Vas, the new Prime Minister of Sao Tome and Principe (Sao Po), submitted his resignation to President Nova, who then dismissed Vas from the position of Prime Minister. Amado Vas was appointed as the Prime Minister of Sao Po by President Nova on January 9th to succeed Trovada, the former Prime Minister of Sao Po, who was dismissed on January 6th.
