U.S. consumer spending growth slowed in April, inflation fell to a four-year low.

Golden Ten Data on May 30, data showed that U.S. consumers began to slow down consumption in April after experiencing the strongest month of consumption since the beginning of 2023, while inflation remained moderate, which is in line with the economic slowdown. U.S. real personal consumption expenditures rose 0.1% in April after rising 0.7% m/m from the previous month, data showed on Friday. The U.S. core PCE price index rose 0.1% m/m in April from the previous month. Compared to the same period last year, the core PCE price index in the United States recorded an annual rate of 2.5% in April, the smallest annual increase in more than four years.
