Mars Finance reports that, according to Jintiao, Citigroup economists, in conjunction with today’s CPI data, initially estimate that the March core PCE month-over-month increase will be 0.3%. This level is higher than the level corresponding to the Federal Reserve’s 2% year-over-year target but better than the 0.4% increase in February. The Citigroup team pointed out that they still need to incorporate PPI data to make a more accurate forecast of PCE.
