Les conflits au Moyen-Orient enflamment les matières premières clés pour les puces, entraînant une hausse spectaculaire des prix de la série de consoles PS5
People’s Finance Network 30 March, according to reports by American media, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that it has recently raised the prices of its PS5 console series. This is the company’s second price adjustment in less than a year. The reports say that in the U.S. market, the disc-drive version of the PS5 console will be increased by $100 from $549.99 to $649.99 (approximately RMB 4498). The digital version will also be increased by $100 to $599.99 (approximately RMB 4152). Sony’s most powerful PS5 Pro model will rise by $150, with the price increasing to $899.99 (approximately RMB 6228). Sony said that price adjustments of varying degrees have also been made in markets including China, Japan, and Europe. Analysts point out that given the rise in memory prices, this increase is unavoidable. In addition, the Associated Press reported that although Sony did not explicitly mention the specific reason for the price increase, earlier the Iranian attack on Qatar’s natural gas export facilities and the subsequent shutdown forced there threatened the supply of helium, a key input for the production of computer chips. According to data from the U.S. Geological Survey, Qatar supplies one-third of the world’s helium. QatarEnergy previously said that the closure of the facilities will reduce the country’s helium export volume by 14%. Analysts noted that a reduction in helium supply will push up prices, and if the conflict continues for several months or longer, the extent of the price increase will further expand. (CCTV Finance)
