According to CCTV News: On March 27, the first international commercial mediation college in the country, jointly established by the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Justice, the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education, Harbin University of Commerce, and the Heilongjiang Provincial Mediation Association, was officially established.

With the deepening of opening up, the demand for resolving international commercial disputes is becoming increasingly urgent. The establishment of this college aims to fill the talent gap in foreign-related commercial mediation and to serve the construction of a new highland for opening up to the north. The college innovatively constructs a “dual mentor system with Chinese and foreign experts, and segmented training” model, breaking through the disciplinary boundaries of traditional law and business studies, deepening interdisciplinary research between law, technology, and economics, and exploring a new mechanism for seamless connection of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as joint dual-degree training.

The college mainly conducts degree education, cultivates talents for foreign-related commercial mediation, and engages in academic research on international commercial mediation, with enrollment for degree education starting in September. After graduation, students will work in legal service organizations such as commercial mediation organizations and arbitration institutions to resolve foreign-related civil and commercial disputes.
