HOUSTON, March 10 (Argus) — Critical Metals, a key U.S. mineral mining company, today announced a $30 million plan to rapidly advance the Tanbreez heavy rare earth project in Greenland.

The funds will accelerate drilling, infrastructure, engineering design, and metallurgy programs, with the goal of commencing first ore production in the fourth quarter of 2028 or the first quarter of 2029, and starting rare earth concentrate exports in the third quarter of 2029.

Critical Metals is in discussions with supply chain partners in the U.S., such as Realloys and Ucore, as well as other companies in Europe and Saudi Arabia, regarding purchasing and refining matters.

The company has received a letter of intent for funding support of $120 million from the U.S. Export-Import Bank.

The company stated that the Tanbreez project in Greenland has a deposit with a rare earth content of approximately 27% of the total rare earth oxides.
