Shock: 23-year-old trader commits suicide on livestream to create meme coin
A trader with the nickname MistaFuccYou committed suicide directly on the X ( platform, formerly known as Twitter) on Friday night after losing the final 500 USD in a rug pull scam related to a meme coin.
Before firing, MistaFuccYou loaded ammunition into a rifle on livestream and said, "If I die, turn me into a meme coin." The gun jammed twice, but on the third attempt, the bullet fired.
The livestream lasted more than 30 minutes after his death, capturing the haunting scene of blood flowing endlessly, while the crypto community watched the real-time reactions. Within minutes, a slew of meme coins named after him appeared on the market.
Signs of psychological crisis and developments before the incident
According to users on X and Reddit, MistaFuccYou, also known as “Im really poor,” is only 23 years old. His recent posts show signs of mental breakdown. Some community members believe that the suicide incident stemmed not only from losses in trading but also from a breakup, as he had mentioned his girlfriend (“shorty”) but suddenly went silent about her two weeks before the incident occurred.
Tragedy turns into a meme coin frenzy
Just a few minutes after MistaFuccYou's death, a token called 'Mistacoin' appeared, with 70% of the total supply sent to his wallet by a developer before the incident occurred. Crypto Twitter community had mixed reactions. Some quickly rushed to buy the token, taking advantage of the attention wave to make profit. On the contrary, many expressed outrage at the market's indifference.
A user X summarized the incident in a sarcastic manner:
*"Let me be clear. A streamer on X. Scammed. Apply for a refund. Pull out a pistol. Say 'If I die, make me a meme.' Pull the trigger three times. Dead. The livestream continued for 30 minutes. And instantly, people create a meme coin? WTF?" *
Another person criticizes the meme coin industry:
This industry is truly ruthless. He broadcasts live, plays Russian roulette to pump a coin, and ends up losing his life.
A member of the community asserts:
*"I'm not going to post any videos or pictures because it's so horrible, but one person just shot himself in the head with the last word: 'I hope people turn this into a meme coin.' And guess what happened? If you trade this coin, you really have a problem." *
Meanwhile, a trader named Dani speaks out about the community's fake morality:
*We have seen coins like 'Justice For...', 'RIP...', or even coins created from every imaginable tragedy. But this time, he himself has requested it. Now, are people showing ethics again?
Tragic accident or failed advertising gimmick?
Some people believe that MistaFuccYou is playing Russian roulette - a dangerous game in which players put a bullet in a revolver, spin the cylinder, and pull the trigger. What's happening on the livestream seems to fit this scenario.
However, there is also a hypothesis that this is a failed communication strategy. Before the incident occurred, MistaFuccYou publicly expressed his desire to have a meme coin named after him. Moreover, the fact that a developer sent him 70% of the token's total supply just before his death further raises suspicions that this could be an advertising campaign gone too far.
Despite the shock caused by the incident, the authorities have not yet made any official statements. Currently, all information comes only from X, Reddit, and crypto communities, making many details of the incident still unclear. The true identity of MistaFuccYou has not been verified, and the authenticity of the livestream has not been confirmed by the authorities.
