Web3 Foundation announces the list of the 16th batch of funding projects
As 2022 draws to a close, the Web3 Foundation announced that its grant program has been running for four years. This year, the foundation funded 150 projects, setting a new record. Additionally, it received 267 applications, and 230 funded projects completed and delivered their milestones.
In 2022, the Web3 Foundation's grant program reached two important milestones: receiving the 1000th grant application and supporting the 400th project. That year, Polkadot's development activity also reached a historic high, with nearly 2500 active developers at its peak each month, making it one of the most active developer communities outside of Ethereum.
To better support the growing developer community, the foundation has launched a web-based user interface that allows readers to familiarize themselves with the funding program and explore all signed projects, completed batches, RFPs, and other documents in a more user-friendly way.
The 16th batch of funded projects has a total of 39, covering multiple fields:
User Interface: Includes six projects such as DotPulse, Polkadot Snap, and ChainViz v1.
Signature: including distributed private key management projects.
Chains and Modules: Including 11 projects such as TREX, LeetCoin, Substrate IPFS Utilities, etc.
Tools, APIs, and Languages: Including 16 projects such as cross-consensus messaging software development kit, Sol2Ink Phase 2, NFT infrastructure, etc.
Research: Includes three projects such as digital inheritance in Web3, hybrid node research funding, etc.
Wallet: Includes the Coong Wallet project.
These projects cover multiple aspects from infrastructure to user interfaces, aiming to further expand the Web3 ecosystem. The Web3 Foundation stated that they have been looking for new projects to support in order to continue expanding the Web3 ecosystem. Teams that are interested are welcome to apply according to the relevant instructions or contact the foundation.
