In the field of digital asset security, the multisignature (multisign) mechanism is playing an increasingly important role. A case from a foundation demonstrates the power of this mechanism: they employed 7 multisignature parties, distributed across 4 different time zones, with 3 community representatives' hardware wallets even stored in a bank vault, and the access password is changed monthly.

This rigorous security design was validated during a hacking incident in 2024. Although the attackers successfully obtained the digital signatures of two technical members, they ultimately failed to transfer the assets because they could not simultaneously acquire the physical keys held by the auditing agency in Tokyo (which also had a 48-hour cooling mechanism).

This multi-layered security mechanism not only ensures the absolute security of 270 million digital assets but has also successfully intercepted 11 unauthorized access attempts over the past three years. This multisignature mechanism, which combines digital and physical security measures, provides a commendable example for the protection of digital assets.

As the value of digital assets continues to grow, similar security measures may be promoted in more institutions. This involves not only innovations at the technical level but also the integration of management processes and physical security, forming a comprehensive asset protection system. In the future, we may see more security solutions that combine advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and biometrics, further enhancing the security of digital assets.
