Kite Secures $18M Series A to Build Agentic Web Infrastructure with Stablecoin Payments
San Francisco-based startup Kite has raised $18 million in a Series A funding round led by PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst, bringing its total funding to $33 million.
From Zettablock to Kite AIR
Formerly known as Zettablock, the company has rebranded as Kite and launched Kite AIR, a suite of solutions designed to power the emerging “agentic web.” The platform introduces programmable agent identifiers, native stablecoin payments, and policy enforcement mechanisms through components such as Agent Passport and the Agent App Store.
Kite says that AIR already supports integrations with platforms including Shopify and PayPal. These integrations allow autonomous agents to authenticate, transact, and access blockchain-based services with millisecond-level settlement and minimal fees.
Backing from Global Investors
In addition to PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst, the round saw participation from 8VC, Samsung Next, Vertex Ventures, and Animoca Brands. The fresh capital will help Kite accelerate the rollout of its infrastructure and expand integrations across commerce, finance, and data ecosystems.
Building the Infrastructure of Trust
Kite positions itself as a foundational trust layer for the agentic web—an internet era where autonomous agents transact and interact on behalf of users and businesses. With AIR, the startup aims to make these interactions secure, efficient, and programmable, unlocking new possibilities for commerce and financial applications.
