Cryptocurrency Hedge Fund Asymmetric Founder Joe McCann was investigated by local police during a trip to Zanzibar, Tanzania, due to the mysterious death of his fiancée, American influencer Ashly Robinson. The police initially confirmed the cause of death as suicide and noted that the two had a heated argument prior to the incident. Currently, Tanzanian police have confiscated McCann's passport and asked him to stay in the country to cooperate with the autopsy review and further case investigation. Additionally, Robinson's family has expressed doubt about the suicide conclusion and has launched a crowdfunding campaign to cover related expenses. McCann's previously operated Asymmetric fund suffered significant losses in 2025 and announced its closure, with rumors claiming the fund declined by 78% within the year.(CoinDesk)
