Diakiric stated that this French peacekeeper was a professional military dog trainer.
On April 18th, the explosive ordnance disposal team to which the peacekeeper belonged was suddenly attacked by gunfire in southern Lebanon.
The United Nations reiterated that attacks on peacekeepers are absolutely unacceptable, and strongly urged relevant parties to conduct a thorough investigation immediately, and to prosecute and hold responsible persons accountable.
In addition, the humanitarian aid needs within Lebanon have far exceeded the current scale of international assistance.
