Solana hits records for monthly new and active addresses

The Solana network recorded the number of new and active addresses in December.

According to The Block, the number of active Solana network addresses increased by about 50% compared to November. It exceeded 15.6 million, more than the previous 15.2 million in January.

Source: The BlockThe number of new addresses also set a record of 6.8 million in December, up from the previous record of 6.6 million in May 2023. One metric that has yet to set a record is non-voting transactions, which are still below November levels.

Last week, SOL also overtook XRP in ranking cryptocurrencies by capitalization and took fifth place. The asset’s market value exceeded BNB’s, placing the project in fourth place. At the time of writing, Solana is trading at $113. The project capitalization is $48.3 billion. Over the past 24 hours, the trading volume of the SOL token reached $4.9 billion.
