August 1, 2026, Saturday — ETH Perpetual Futures | Technical Analysis + Complete Trading Strategy

⚠️Only market projections, not investment advice. Contracts must strictly set stop-losses and manage position sizing

Market Structure Overview

ETH is highly correlated with BTC; the daily chart remains under sustained pressure from the medium-term moving averages, and the bullish rebound momentum has been consistently weak. Previously, price stayed in a converging range-box of 1880–1930. Earlier analysis specifically marked 1880 as the key split between bulls and bears. Now, on the 4-hour timeframe, price has effectively broken down below this support, and the ranging structure has officially broken to the downside.
Interpreting signals from the 4-hour chart:
Current price 1865.34. Price has fallen across the board below the EMA7, EMA21, and EMA55 short- and medium-term moving averages. Multiple moving averages have turned down, forming continuous pressure; currently, only EMA144 (1859.96) remains as the short-term lifeline.
MACD: DIF -9.77, DEA -3.95, MACD -5.82. The death cross continues downward, and bearish momentum keeps releasing. The chart shows a characteristic of selloff with expanding volume and rebounds with shrinking volume; there is not enough bullish follow-through.
With weekend liquidity relatively weak, ETH’s volatility is higher than BTC’s. Any minor move in BTC can easily trigger wick stop-hunts. Switch trading approach: rebound-to-sell (highs) is the primary plan; going long at lows is only suitable for very light-position short-term rebound plays—no heavy-position contrarian bottom-catching is allowed.

Key Levels (Perpetual Futures Mark Price Reference)

Upper Resistance

1. First resistance: 1876–1880
Pressure from the 4-hour EMA7. After the prior range-box support breaks, it turns into the core resistance. This is the preferred bearish entry area today; only a hold above this zone can ease the downside rhythm.

2. Second resistance: 1892–1895
Confluence pressure from EMA21 + EMA55. The prior range-box lower edge—an important bull-bear observation checkpoint.

3. Strong resistance: 1910–1930
The midpoint of the prior range-box. Only by returning to this range can the bearish structure be reversed.

Lower Support

1. First support: 1859–1860
EMA144 long-term moving average; at this stage, it is the short-term lifeline. If the 4-hour close effectively breaks below, more downside room will open.

2. Defensive support: 1844–1847
The recent local low consolidation/holding zone.

3. Medium- to long-term support: around 1810
An important demand/buying area from the July lows.

Two Standard Trading Strategies (Wait for K-line confirmation signals; no premature entries)

Strategy 1: Sell the rebound at highs (main intraday idea; execute first)

Entry conditions: Price rebounds and stalls in the 1876–1880 zone, then prints a rejection/pressure-returning bearish candle
Opening range: 1874–1879
Protective stop-loss: Above 1896
Take-profit targets:
TP1: 1860
TP2: 1845
Exit rules: When TP1 is reached, cut the position by half; the remaining position looks toward TP2. If stop-loss is triggered, exit unconditionally—no holding through losses.

Strategy 2: Pullback-to-long (short-term rebound bet; participate cautiously with extremely light positions)

Entry conditions: Pull back into the 1859–1860 zone, and the 4-hour K-line closes with a long lower wick confirming stabilization
Opening range: 1860–1863
Protective stop-loss: Below 1854
Take-profit target: Around 1875
Exit rules: In a downtrend, rebound room is limited. Once the target is reached, take profit decisively—do not hold long-term.

Breakout Contingency Plan

1. If it holds effectively above 1895 (4-hour close above)
The bearish structure is damaged; price returns to range oscillation. Pause the trend-following short idea and switch to the range-trading strategy.

2. If it breaks effectively below 1859 (4-hour close below)
Long-term moving-average support is lost, and downside room fully opens. Stay consistent with the bearish trend view; next target 1844, with further focus on 1830.

Indicator Reference

Daily RSI stays in a neutral to slightly weak range; bearish MACD momentum has not been extinguished. Earlier, the 4-hour moving averages kept intertwining and sticking together, forming a standard ranging structure. After the box breaks, the moving averages form a bearish alignment, and MACD keeps running downward. Even if a trend forms, on the weekend there are still wick fake breakouts—avoid blindly chasing pumps and panic-selling into dumps.

Intraday Risk Control — Hard Rules

1. Leverage suggested 5–10x; prioritize isolated margin/position mode. No heavy positions, no high-risk high-leverage bets;

2. Maximum loss per trade must be kept within 1% of total account funds;

3. Weekend liquidity is poor, wick stop-hunt risk is high in the short term—avoid holding for long periods as much as possible;

4. ETH follows BTC’s linkage volatility. When the big coin rapidly rises or falls, don’t frequently add positions—avoid locking both directions and holding through losses

$ETH ‌As predicted, my ETH failed to break through resistance and is now within the support area of $1,800–$1,700 as a marker + determinant of whether the market trend can turn bullish or drop much further. Since 3 days ago, the decline has been quite significant, at -2.1%. My analysis is that ETH will hold first within the range of $1,840–$1,790. If it still fails and breaks below the lower limit, it means there is ETF outflow and mass trader actions that push the price even deeper into the drop—so the opportunity for a bullish move in mid-August will be quite difficult. The same goes for BTC. I suggest just waiting and seeing, waiting for certainty about the market direction before executing any short/long to avoid FOMO traps and mass losses
