Minister Of Education Visits Schools As Students Return To Classrooms Across Qatar
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Peninsula
Doha, Qatar: Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater has affirmed that the resumption of in-person classes represents an important step toward restoring the normal course of the educational process.
She commended the efforts of teachers and school administrations in supporting students both academically and psychologically, in a way that enhances their stability and ensures the continuity of their learning.
Schools across Qatar witnessed a smooth return to full in-person learning yesterday, as students resumed attendance following a temporary period of remote education implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure continuity of learning under all circumstances.
The transition back to classroom-based education comes after the completion of comprehensive preparations aimed at ensuring the readiness of the school environment and maintaining the stability and efficiency of the educational process. Students across both government and private institutions attended classes in an organised setting that supports academic continuity and overall well-being.
According to official figures, a total of 148,472 students are enrolled in government schools, while 269,016 students attend private schools, reflecting the scale of the education sector and the coordinated efforts required to ensure a seamless return.
Al Khater conducted field inspection visits to a number of government, private, and community schools.
Her tour included visits to Sawda Bint Zam’a Preparatory School for Girls, Al Thumama Primary School for Boys, Al Wakra Secondary School for Boys, Rabaa Al Adawiya Secondary School for Girls, Al Hidaya School for Students with Special Needs, the Egyptian Language School, Al Salam First School, and the Lebanese School.
During the visits, the Minister reviewed the progress of the school day, met with administrative and teaching staff, and engaged with students to assess their experiences. She also examined the implementation of approved procedures designed to ensure a safe and stable learning environment that supports sustainable education.
The Minister listened to students’ feedback and reviewed lessons learned from the recent distance learning experience, emphasising the importance of analysing challenges, particularly student absenteeism, and addressing them in line with the highest safety and educational standards.
In a press statement, Al Khater underscored that the resumption of in-person learning marks a significant step toward restoring the normal trajectory of the education system. She commended the efforts of teachers and school administrations in providing both academic and psychological support to students, ensuring their stability and continued progress.
The Minister also praised the vital role of parents and their partnership with schools, highlighting the importance of incorporating feedback from the educational field into the development of policies and programmes to create a more engaging and motivating learning environment.
Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at MoEHE Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili visited Nasser bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Secondary School for Girls and Al Kharaitiyat Primary School for Girls.
Assistant Undersecretary for Private Schools Affairs at MoEHE Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama toured Al Jazeera Academy, the Pakistani School, the Tunisian School, the Palestinian School, and the Mashhoor Al Haq Bengali School to ensure compliance with approved safety measures and the smooth functioning of the educational process.
These efforts reflect the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s commitment to ensuring continuity in education, strengthening institutional readiness, and enhancing the quality of educational outcomes, in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
