A linha de produção anual de 100 mil toneladas de "tecido eletrónico" da China Giant Glass foi com sucesso ligada.
□ China Jushi (600176) annual production line of 100,000 tons of electronic-grade glass fiber, is the world’s first zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base for glass fiber, which will provide high-end electronic information materials for emerging industries such as consumer electronics, 5G communications and computing, industrial control, and medical care.
□ China National Building Material Group will rely on innovation platforms such as the Jushi National Enterprise Technology Center, collaborate with downstream customers and research institutes, focus on breaking through the core technology of next-generation electronic fabrics, and strengthen collaborative innovation with copper-clad boards, PCBs, and end-user AI servers and smart vehicle manufacturers to ensure the safety and自主可控 of China’s electronic information industry chain.
On March 18, China Jushi Huaian’s annual production line of 100,000 tons of electronic-grade glass fiber and 390 million meters of electronic fabric was successfully ignited. Shanghai Securities News learned on-site that this electronic-grade glass fiber (electronic fabric) production line accounts for 9% of the global market and is the largest electronic-grade glass fiber production line in the world. Among them, high-end electronic substrates such as thin fabric and ultra-thin fabric account for 30%.
It is worth mentioning that recent good news has been coming frequently for China’s strategic new basic materials. On March 11, Zhongfu Shenying announced the SYT80 (T1200 grade) ultra-high strength carbon fiber, becoming the world’s first company capable of mass-producing T1200 grade carbon fiber (hundred-ton level), marking another milestone in China’s new materials field.
Single production line capacity accounts for 9% of the global market
Zhou Yuxian, Chairman of China National Building Material Group, stated on-site that the completed ignition of this 100,000-ton annual electronic-grade glass fiber production line is an important part of the world’s first zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base for glass fiber, which will provide high-end electronic information materials for emerging industries such as consumer electronics, 5G communications and computing, industrial control, and medical care.
It is understood that the newly ignited Huaian annual 100,000-ton electronic-grade glass fiber and 390 million meters of electronic fabric production line accounts for 9% of the global market. Currently, China Jushi holds a 23% share of the global electronic glass fiber market. Notably, the Huaian zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base has already built two 100,000-ton annual capacity glass fiber reinforced yarn production lines.
Yang Guoming, General Manager of China Jushi, said in an interview that to keep the supply and demand of the electronic fabric market stable, the 100,000-ton capacity completed this time will be released in phases. Regarding the rising market prices of electronic fabric in recent months, Yang Guoming responded that excessively high prices or large fluctuations will pose challenges to the industry upstream and downstream. The company will listen to the voices of industry chain partners and adjust product prices prudently based on market demand.
Electronic-grade glass fiber is an important strategic new basic material. With the rapid development of AI servers, high-performance chips, high-frequency communications, and other electronic information industries, the demand for electronic-grade glass fiber is growing rapidly. It is understood that the 100,000-ton annual production line of electronic glass fiber and 390 million meters of electronic fabric accounts for 30% of high-end electronic substrates such as thin fabric and ultra-thin fabric. This is also a concrete action of China Jushi towards the future, focusing on high-end layout and implementing national strategies.
The Huaian zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base of China Jushi has a total investment of over 10 billion yuan, making it the world’s first zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base in the glass fiber industry and the second comprehensive production base for coarse and fine yarns globally. The Huaian zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing base fully utilizes renewable energy, implements green energy plans, low-carbon production technologies, and zero-carbon circulation modes, with 100% green electricity usage, achieving “net zero” emissions.
Good news for strategic new basic materials
Electronic-grade glass fiber is the raw material for printed circuit boards (PCBs), known as the “mother of electronic system products.” PCBs are the physical carriers and electrical connectors for all electronic components—from chips to sensors.
“Without high-end electronic fabric, there is no high-performance PCB,” Zhou Yuxian said in an interview. Without high-performance PCBs, it is impossible to support the high-speed transmission of massive data in AI servers or enable precise coordination between the “brain” and “limbs” of humanoid robots. Especially now, with AI, 6G, and intelligent connected vehicles demanding unprecedented signal transmission speed, integrity, and low latency, electronic substrates are developing towards ultra-fine, ultra-thin, and low dielectric.
He pointed out that the performance of electronic-grade glass fiber directly determines the dielectric properties, thermal expansion coefficient, and reliability of PCBs, making it an essential underlying material for the digital economy.
It is worth noting that recently, Zhongfu Shenying, also under China National Building Material Group, announced the SYT80 (T1200 grade) ultra-high strength carbon fiber, another milestone event in China’s new materials field. Carbon fiber is known as “black gold” and is a key point for ensuring supply chain security and serving economic and social development. The engineering tensile strength of SYT80-12K carbon fiber has surpassed 8000 MPa, making it the world’s first T1200 grade carbon fiber product to achieve industrialized mass production, reaching industry-leading levels globally.
Zhou Yuxian previously explained that in aerospace, deep-sea equipment, high-end manufacturing, and other fields, the ultra-high strength carbon fiber SYT80 (T1200 grade) can achieve over 10% weight reduction of structural components, significantly improving the load capacity, endurance, and operational performance of equipment while ensuring strength and safety. As mass production scales up, material costs will gradually optimize, further reducing overall manufacturing costs.
“During the 14th Five-Year Plan,” he said, “we will challenge the most advanced electronic fabric technologies.”
“High-end electronic substrates have long depended on imports, like building skyscrapers on foreign foundations, always with safety risks,” Zhou Yuxian said. The breakthrough in high-end substrates is a strategic move to fill the “shortcomings” in the electronic information industry chain.
He mentioned, “In the most advanced electronic fabric fields, such as ultra-high-speed data centers, millimeter-wave radar, and high-end AI chip testing substrates, we still lag behind the world’s top levels. This is a shortcoming we must face and a key area to focus on during the ‘14th Five-Year Plan.’”
Looking ahead to the “14th Five-Year Plan,” China National Building Material Group will rely on innovation platforms like the Jushi National Enterprise Technology Center, collaborate with downstream clients and research institutes, focus on breaking through core technologies of next-generation electronic fabrics, strengthen collaborative innovation with copper-clad boards, PCBs, and end-user AI servers and smart vehicle manufacturers, and upgrade from materials to solutions, ensuring the safety and自主可控 of China’s electronic information industry chain.
