Local time Tuesday, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang pointed out that a rapidly emerging AI project called OpenClaw marks a significant advancement in the way humans interact with artificial intelligence.

“Now it is the largest, most popular, and most successful open-source project in human history,” Huang said in an interview during Nvidia’s GTC conference in California. He asserted, “This is definitely the next ChatGPT.”

OpenClaw (commonly called “Little Lobster” domestically) is currently the hottest open-source autonomous AI platform worldwide, surpassing traditional chatbots. These intelligent agents can not only answer questions but also complete tasks, make decisions, and take actions with minimal user intervention. Its core is to transform AI from “chat” into “performing tasks.”

Nvidia actively involved

Nvidia quickly strategizes around the development momentum of OpenClaw. The leading AI chip company announced on Monday the launch of NemoClaw, an enterprise version of OpenClaw, which overlays Nvidia’s software stack and tools on the platform. Its goal is to make these powerful AI agents secure, scalable, and ready for practical application.

Huang described this technology as a fundamental revolution with the potential to greatly expand human capabilities with AI. “With just one line of code, you can create a dedicated intelligent agent for yourself. Then, just let it do anything you want,” he said.

Huang used a real-world example to illustrate this concept: designing a kitchen. With a brief prompt, an OpenClaw AI agent can research images, learn design tools, iterate solutions, and optimize outputs—all autonomously. “They will learn how to design a kitchen, then provide design plans and self-reflect to optimize,” Huang explained.

He added that the broader impact is the enhancement of individual professional abilities. “Every carpenter can now become an architect, every plumber will also become an architect. We will elevate everyone’s capabilities.”

Huang has recently praised the OpenClaw project frequently. On Monday, at Nvidia’s 2026 GTC conference, he also called on global companies to develop a “Lobster Strategy.”

He also stated at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference that the open-source project OpenClaw surpassed Linux in just three weeks to become the most downloaded open-source software in history, calling it “the most important software release of our era.”

Addressing security concerns

Of course, the rapid rise of autonomous AI agents like OpenClaw has also raised concerns about security, privacy, and control—especially when these systems have independent action capabilities.

This is precisely where Nvidia believes it can make a difference. Through NemoClaw, Nvidia is building protective mechanisms, including privacy safeguards, supervision tools, and enterprise-level security measures, to ensure these agents can be deployed safely at scale.

Solving these risks is crucial to unleashing the next wave of AI applications—where agents will no longer just be assistants but will act on behalf of humans.
