IT之家 March 5 news: Microsoft yesterday (March 4) published a blog post announcing that it will upgrade three core Microsoft 365 components—OneDrive, Teams, and Word—by improving smarter interaction behavior and more streamlined workflows to enhance user productivity.

For Word, Microsoft said it will begin deep integration of the AI assistant Copilot this month, with default support for editing documents through a chat interface. IT之家 cited the blog post, in which Microsoft emphasized that all editing actions remain transparent and reviewable, and users can undo changes at any time.

For Teams, Microsoft will start in April adding meeting content management features. Users will be able to delete automatically generated transcript text, AI summaries, recordings, and notes with one click on the meeting recap page, while keeping shared files.

At the same time, Microsoft will roll out centralized channel notification settings, so users won’t need to adjust channel preferences one by one—effectively addressing workflow disruptions caused by too many notifications.

For OneDrive, Microsoft has added a more user-friendly error prompt mechanism. For the issue where file paths exceed the 520-character limit, after a system update in May 2026, the system will directly point to the specific problematic folder in the dialog box to guide users to shorten names. In addition, the system will combine multiple path errors into a single notification to prevent users from being bombarded by many pop-ups, enabling them to quickly locate and resolve the issue.
