Position value refers to the current value of the holding position, which is adjusted in real-time according to changes in the mark price. The calculation of position value differs between USDT perpetual contracts and BTC perpetual contracts.
USDT-M Perpetual Contracts
Formula: Position Value = Amount × Contract Multiplier × Mark Price
Take the BTCUSDT contract for example:
If User A opens a long BTCUSDT position of 1,000 contracts, and the current mark price is 50,000 USDT, then the current position value is
1000 × 0.0001 × 50000 = 5000 USDT
BTC-M Perpetual Contracts
Formula: Position Value = Amount / Mark Price
If User B opens a long BTCUSDT position of 1,000 contracts, and the current mark price is 50,000 USDT, then the current position value is
1000 / 50000 ≈ 0.02 BTC
Notice
- Contract Multiplier refers to the size of each contract; detailed data can be found on the Contract Details page.
- The amount in the formulas above is expressed in “Contracts.” If expressed in cryptocurrency units, the contract multiplier does not need to be considered.
- Prices are based on the real-time mark price.
- Position value is expressed in the settlement currency. Actual fees and funding costs are calculated using the position value in the settlement currency.
