Golden Finance reports that on April 25th, a judge expressed doubt about whether the privacy lawsuit of $1 billion filed by former President Trump against the IRS and the U.S. Department of the Treasury could proceed, because Trump effectively controls both sides of the lawsuit. District Judge Kathleen Williams ordered the Department of Justice to provide a written explanation by May 20th on how she should oversee the case when the Constitution requires the court to have legitimate “adversarial controversy” jurisdiction to hear the case. The judge stated that, considering Trump is the current president and his designated opponent is an entity led by him, the court is currently “uncertain whether the parties have sufficient adversariality” to establish jurisdiction.
