After spending enough time in the trading market, you gradually come to understand one particularly painful truth: how much you gain depends largely on whether the market is willing to cooperate; but how long you can survive in this market depends entirely on whether you can control your drawdowns.
When many people first enter the market, they get lucky and catch a favorable trend, making handsome gains in just a few days. Yet these are often the very people who vanish without a trace a few months later—not because they have earned enough and decided to stop, but because a brutal plunge knocks them flat. That kind of drop makes no sense and gives no warning. In just a few days, it can swallow up months of hard-earned gains and leave you even deeper in the hole. Only then do they realize that however much you gain, it is merely paper wealth; when losses come, real money is what actually leaves your pocket.
So how do you avoid being wiped out by a single wave? Many people's first reaction is, “Learn to cut your losses,” but that is only superficial. What really matters is changing the way you think about survival. Think about it: none of us is a deity. We cannot get every entry right, nor can we time every exit perfectly. Where prices go is the result of the combined efforts of countless people. The little bit of money we put in cannot even create a ripple, so how could we possibly control the direction? Forget about it.
If you cannot see the direction clearly or control it, what can you control? Only the small amount of capital in your own hands—whenever you place a bet, think clearly about how much you can lose without feeling hurt, how much would not keep you awake at night, and how much would still leave you a chance to recover. Draw that red line firmly. Then even if the market suddenly turns against you, you will suffer only superficial wounds, not damage to your core. On the other hand, if greed takes over and you think, “This time I’m definitely right,” and go all in, then the slightest market shake will have you jumping out of your chair; another shake and you will be borrowing money to add to your position; a third shake, and you will basically be saying goodbye to this market.
So, you have to completely throw away the idea that “one big gamble will turn everything around.” That is not courage; it is pushing yourself toward the edge of a cliff. The market never closes, and there are opportunities every day, but you only have one pool of principal. Once it is gone, it is truly gone. Truly smart people do not care how much they make in one go; they care whether every loss is kept within limits. It is like driving: an experienced driver is not judged by how fast they go, but by how steadily they brake. When the road is bad, they slow down and proceed carefully, getting through after a few bumps; if you floor the accelerator, you may blow a tire at best or roll the car at worst.
Protect that loss threshold and preserve your ability to sleep peacefully at night, and you will live to see the day the market turns around. Markets always rise and fall: after rising too much, they fall; after falling hard, they rise. As long as you are still at the table, your turn will eventually come. But if you are thrown out halfway through, everything that happens afterward has nothing to do with you.
Do not envy those overnight-wealth stories. They are nothing more than survivorship bias. Among a hundred people, perhaps not even one succeeds, while the remaining ninety-nine become stepping stones. Ordinary people like us can rely only on the clumsy approach—accumulate slowly, hold steadily, keep losses measured, and leave gains to fate. Over time, you will find that those experienced traders who survive are not necessarily the most technically skilled, but the most steady-minded. They do not put their faith in luck, but in patience; they are not guarding against volatility, but against their own greed.
To put it plainly, trading is ultimately not about who gains the fastest, but who survives the longest. As long as you are not wiped out by a single wave, every small loss is merely a toll, and every small gain adds up over time. As the days pass, those gains will naturally grow like a snowball, becoming larger and more solid. This is the only dependable path in the market; everything else is just a story.

$ETH is looking interesting around 1,918.
Price bounced from the 1,904 support area and is now trying to move higher. The first resistance is near 1,930. Above that we can watch 1,938 and then the recent high around 1,942.
If ETH breaks above 1,930 and holds there buyers could push the price toward 1,938 and 1,942. For now 1,904 is the key level. As long as this support holds the setup still looks bullish.
