Russia, the UAE, Iraq, and six other countries announce jointly: increase crude oil production

Local time on April 5, eight member countries of “OPEC+” composed of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and non-OPEC oil-producing countries held a meeting and decided to increase crude oil daily output by 206k barrels starting May 2026, continuing the prior arrangement of gradually exiting voluntary production cuts.

The countries participating included Saudi Arabia, Russia, the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Oman. The meeting made no other adjustments to current production policy.
