Personas de la industria de Arabia Saudita envían señales de cooperación a empresas chinas en Zhongguancun

China News Network Beijing, 29 March (Reporter Su Jingxin) Samir S. Shaishili, Deputy General Manager for Industrial Cluster Enabling at the former Saudi Center for Industrial Development and the current Chief Executive Officer of the Industrial Base Company, said at the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference on March 29 that China’s Belt and Road initiative and Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030” are not only parallel strategies, but perfectly align.

That day, Shaishili attended the “China-Brics Countries Technology Transfer to Overseas Cooperation Docking Special Session.” In his remarks, he first thanked the Chinese side for its efforts to promote bilateral technology transfer and overseas cooperation. He noted that Saudi Arabia is currently in a stage of economic structure transformation, and the continued development of its non-oil economy. For Chinese enterprises, this stage is not only an investment opportunity, but also a chance to participate in building an industrial system.

Regarding Chinese companies’ investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia, Shaishili focused on three major strategic areas.

In the fields of advanced manufacturing and new energy vehicles, he said that Saudi Arabia is building a global mobility industry ecosystem, and China’s strengths in the electric vehicle supply chain fully meet Saudi Arabia’s needs for localized production and the construction of an industrial ecosystem.

In the fields of the digital economy and artificial intelligence, he said that Saudi Arabia is moving from pilot projects to practical applications of artificial intelligence, and is investing heavily in smart cities and cloud infrastructure. “And Chinese cities such as Beijing and Hangzhou are world leaders in these fields, with enormous room for cooperation.”

In the fields of healthcare, biotechnology, and genomics, Shaishili introduced that Saudi Arabia’s genomics program is drawing up a national genomics blueprint to achieve personalized diagnosis and treatment, while China’s world-class expertise in gene sequencing, gene therapy, and bio-manufacturing provides broad cooperation space between the two sides in scientific research collaboration, diagnostic technologies, and the localization of gene therapy.

Shaishili said that what Saudi Arabia is building is not just a cooperation relationship, but a complete industrial ecosystem. At the end of his remarks, he said in Chinese, “Let us join hands to create the future.”
