People’s Finance News, 30 March: The spokesman of the National Police Service of South Sudan, Armandohe, said on 30 March that on the evening of 28, unknown armed personnel attacked a gold mine in Central Equatoria State in South Sudan, resulting in at least 74 civilian deaths and multiple people missing. Armandohe said that the attack took place in the Jebel Irak gold mine area in Central Equatoria State, and that all the victims were civilians engaged in gold mining activities in that area. Armandohe said that the police and the South Sudan People’s Defense Force have been deployed to the incident area to carry out patrols and search-and-rescue operations.
