On March 4 at 22:00, Apple held its first-ever China home spring keynote at A.F.A in Shanghai, while also launching a global experience tour in parallel with New York and London.

Beyond the routine updates to the iPad and Mac product lines, the biggest highlight of this keynote comes from the MacBook Neo, which is seen as Apple’s reshuffling of its entry-level market positioning. Priced in the 4,000 yuan range, it goes on sale starting March 11.

In terms of appearance, the Neo uses an aluminum metal body and comes in four striking color options: silver, peach pink, tangerine yellow, and indigo blue.

Equipped with a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, it is one of the smallest notebooks Apple has produced to date.

Another major change is that the Neo is powered by the A18 Pro chip, the same as iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max—this is also the first time Apple has used a smartphone processor on a Mac computer.

John Ternus, Senior Vice President of Apple Hardware Engineering, said, “MacBook Neo is designed to let more people enjoy the Mac experience at a more affordable price. It is a laptop only Apple can create.”
