China’s new round of mineral exploration strategies has achieved significant breakthroughs. According to the latest information from the Ministry of Natural Resources, the regions of Mianyang in Sichuan and Dangchang in Gansu have recently discovered four key mineral resources: rare earths, fluorite, barite, and antimony ore.

Mainland media reports that this discovery of new solid mineral resources not only enriches China’s resource reserves but also provides a solid material guarantee for the stable supply of related industrial chains, which has high strategic value.

Among them, rare earths are indispensable elements for high-tech industries, while fluorite and barite are important foundational materials for chemical and energy extraction. In military manufacturing, advanced industries, and semiconductor fields, these four materials play irreplaceable roles. They are critical raw materials for manufacturing precision equipment, high-performance semiconductor devices, and advanced weapon systems, directly related to the safety of national industries and global competitiveness.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China discovered 10 billion-ton oil fields and 19 large gas fields. The resources of key minerals such as uranium, copper, gold, lithium, and potash salts have increased significantly. A number of world-class resource bases have emerged, including the super-billion-ton copper mine in Tibet, the super-large gold mine in Laiwu, Shandong, and the largest single lithium mine in Asia discovered in Yajiang, Sichuan.
