People's Financial News, March 13 — The General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the “Opinions on Accelerating the Revitalization and Development of Revolutionary Old Areas,” which proposes to improve the level of new urbanization. It aims to optimize the urban layout of revolutionary old areas, support qualified cities in building provincial sub-centers and regional central cities at inter-provincial borders. The plan promotes the concentration of population and industry in county towns, cultivating a number of strong agricultural counties, large industrial counties, and tourism-famous counties based on local conditions. It also emphasizes strengthening the construction of larger central towns to facilitate the nearby urbanization of agricultural transfer populations. Additionally, efforts will be increased to renovate old urban communities, improve infrastructure such as drainage, flood prevention, sewage collection, and treatment, and optimize the layout of urban public charging networks.
