OPPO's Mother's Day marketing campaign backfired, originally telling the story of a fangirl’s emotional needs, but was pointed out by everyone as promoting extramarital affairs.

Its controversial content was: "My mom has two 'husbands', one is my dad, and the other she sees twice a year. She hardly dresses up when dating my dad, but with the other, she’s eager to wear a wedding dress."
Some netizens believed that the content conveyed incorrect values; others said it was just a "joke."
