Recent on-chain swap experiences have been quite frustrating: you think you're "seizing an opportunity," click to confirm, and then slippage jumps, the execution price skews, and most likely you're caught in a sandwich... To put it simply, the arbitrage opportunities you see are often just the transaction fees others paid to queue ahead and snatch the deal. The most annoying part is that gas fees keep soaring, even for small transactions, artificially inflating it into "taxes paid to miners/packagers." I now generally avoid hot pools, preferring to earn less by setting limit orders, splitting transactions, or choosing timing, saving a bit whenever possible. Modularization, DA layer narratives, developers are talking excitedly, but on the user side, the experience remains: press the confirm button, and the wallet gets educated first. Anyway, I’ll just endure it, and don’t treat me anymore as a liquidity withdrawal machine.
