South African Exchange, Xago, Partners with Nigerian-based Exchange, BitMama, to Deliver Digital ZAR Across Africa

South African exchange, Xago, has announced a partnership with BitMama, a Nigerian-based digital asset exchange, in order to facilitate transactions via the digital South African Rand (ZAR) across the African continent.

The partnership will now see the Changera, a BitMama-powered mobile app, enable users send and receive digital ZAR to family, friends, and businesses in over 10 African markets where the service is currently available.

Some of the countries where BitMama operates include:

• Angola
• Cameroon
• Ghana
• Kenya
• South Africa
• Tanzania
• Uganda
• Zimbabwe

The service is also available in the United Kingdom (UK) and Japan.

Xago, a Ripple-powered custom-built exchange, allows users to send and receive digital ZAR across the globe.

Speaking about the new partnership, Mark Chirnside, CEO, Xago, said:

Xago recently raised an undisclosed investment round from Capitec Bank in South Africa in order to expand its reach across Africa and the emerging markets.

The partnership now sees BitMama become the latest and the first native African exchange to join StratumX, a South American crypto exchange, as and X-ramp partner of Xago.
