According to The Globe and Mail, Toronto-based online financial services platform Wealthsimple announced a partnership with the U.S. prediction market Kalshi. Wealthsimple plans to launch an independent mobile app called "Wealthsimple Predict" later this summer, providing Canadian retail investors access to nearly 4,000 event contracts on the Kalshi platform, allowing users to bet on real-world event outcomes. Previously, Wealthsimple had obtained approval from the Canadian Investment Industry Regulatory Organization (CIRO) in March 2026 to offer prediction contracts.
