#BIP110SoftForkFails
Bitcoin development is once again showing why consensus changes are never simple.
The reported failure of BIP110 to gain sufficient support is more than just the outcome of one proposal. It highlights one of Bitcoin’s defining characteristics: changing the rules of a decentralized network requires broad agreement across developers, miners, node operators, businesses, and the wider community.
A soft fork may sound straightforward, but activating a consensus change can have consequences for the entire Bitcoin ecosystem. Participants need to understand what is changing, why

Today is another day of making money.
ETH/BTC normally uses 5x leverage.
Altcoins: 0.5–1x
Individual U.S. stocks: 1–3x
Staking deflation and continued institutional ETF positioning are gradually raising the bottom range, and the bear-market structure has ended; however, BTC currently dominates the market, making it difficult for ETH to stage an independent major rally. Only a full-scale risk-on bull market can outperform BTC.

It’s been a pretty interesting season for Bitcoin recently
Here’s what’s been happening over the last weeks
➠ Strategy sold another 1690 BTC for around $108.6M just a week after selling 1638 BTC
That’s two consecutive weeks of selling from a company that has built its entire reputation around accumulating Bitcoin
➠ Around the same time, BTC lost the $65K level and started looking increasingly weak
$62K is the next area I’d be watching, with $60K becoming the bigger level if the selling continues
➠ The move also liquidated over $100M in leveraged long positions, showing just how quickly levera

Something interesting happened with $BCH
📈 Trading volume +30%
📉 Price -1.2%
📉 Open Interest -2.26%
So while spot activity increased, leveraged exposure actually decreased.
That tells me traders are becoming more active, but they’re not aggressively adding leverage yet.
BCH is still stuck around the $206–$221 range.
For me, $221 is the level that changes the short-term picture.
A clean breakout could put $232 back in focus.

Inflation data in focus: pre-market futures edge higher as traders await CPI; a cooler print could keep the Fed patient and support a rally, while hotter numbers may lift Treasuries and cloud policy clarity. $BTC? (No direct crypto tie; include only if relevant)

That yellow line at 0.04018 is really interesting—it drops every time it touches it. I doubt it will break through this time either. I’ll follow with one and see.

#BIP110SoftForkFails
The failure of the BIP110 soft fork proposal stands as one of the most significant, yet frequently misunderstood, events in Bitcoin’s developmental history. While often overshadowed by the more contentious block size wars that followed, the rejection of BIP110 was not merely a technical setback; it was a definitive stress test of decentralized consensus mechanisms and market-driven governance. For investors, developers, and institutional stakeholders, understanding why this specific upgrade failed provides critical insight into how Bitcoin actually evolves, distinguishing

HedgeFisher:
I strongly agree with the article’s framing of the failure as an immune response. Technical elegance does not equal economic consensus; scaling is not just a coding issue but a matter of how benefits are distributed. At the time, miners were unwilling to bear orphan-block and bandwidth costs, while users feared being left on a fork. So the project’s demise was not a bad thing—it drove the emergence of Layer 2 solutions such as the Lightning Network. When evaluating future upgrades, don’t just look at how flashy the proposal is; check whether incentives are truly aligned and whether the safety margin is sufficient. Otherwise, even the best BIP will fail at the consensus hurdle.

Gate’s TUT, Lobster and BICO incident highlights why risk control matters in perpetual markets
The crypto derivatives market received an important reminder on August 9 after TUT, Lobster and BICO perpetual contracts experienced abnormal price movements that triggered an immediate risk-control review on Gate.
The most significant part of the story is not simply that three contracts became unusually volatile. It is how the exchange responded after users were affected by forced liquidations.
Gate announced that eligible users who were liquidated during the affect

Oil prices “flash-crashed,” and global stock markets “went wild”! Do you understand this geopolitical bonus? 🎁
Everyone, the night of August 11 was practically a “plot twist”! Pakistan announced that the US and Iran were close to reaching an arrangement and that the situation was moving toward peace. Qatar also expressed support for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
In other words: the geopolitical risk premium vanished instantly, while Brent crude and WTI plunged and global stock markets rallied across the board!
While others chase rises and falls based on headlines, we had already figured it

Shorting is supported, but the take-profit level of 0.0685 is too conservative. Since you said it would fully retrace, wouldn’t it be better to target 0.0670 directly?
