The Bitcoin supply pressure hiding behind the mining sector
Bitcoin’s price action is often explained through ETF flows, institutional demand, Federal Reserve expectations or macro liquidity. But another source of supply has been steadily working in the background: publicly listed Bitcoin miners.
According to the latest reported data, publicly traded miners collectively held around 127,000 BTC at the beginning of 2026. By August 12, that figure had fallen to approximately 99,000 BTC.
That means roughly 28,000 BTC has left miner treasuries this year, representing an estimated
