According to reports, from July 6 to 7, cities including Huangshi, Huanggang, Ezhou, and Xianning experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with gale-force winds. From 19:00 to 23:00 on the 6th, 53 towns saw thunderstorms and gale-force winds, with two towns reaching level 13 winds, and tornadoes occurring in some towns. As of now, the thunderstorms and gale-force winds have caused 14,600 people to be affected, 11 deaths, 1 person missing, 331 injuries, 996 people taking emergency shelter, and 246 people being relocated and resettled. 22 houses collapsed and 4,855 houses were damaged.

This severe convective weather was highly sudden with strong short-term winds. After the disaster, the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government placed great emphasis on the situation, guiding and urging relevant areas to further strengthen prevention and control efforts.
