A 2021 firmware flaw in Coldcard hardware wallets has been exploited in three waves, draining roughly 1,367 BTC (around $89 million) from 4,585 addresses.
The root issue was a coding error that routed seed generation through a weak software RNG instead of the device’s hardware random number generator.
