Mars Finance information, according to Bits.media, reports that the Russian state-owned enterprise Gazprom has required its 17 subsidiaries to open digital ruble accounts with the Central Bank of Russia. The company stated that this move is to prepare for compliance with legislation coming into effect on September 1, which mandates that legal entities must be able to accept the digital ruble as a means of payment for goods and services. The Russian digital ruble began testing in August 2023, and by the end of 2025, more than 130 corporate accounts have participated in platform testing. Starting September 1, major Russian banks and large enterprises must provide digital ruble transaction capabilities for their clients.
