Mars Finance news, May 13 — The U.S. Senate on the 12th officially confirmed Kevin Waugh as a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors with a vote of 51 in favor and 45 against, for a term of 14 years. Waugh is succeeding Milan, whose term has ended. The Senate has initiated the confirmation process for Waugh’s simultaneous appointment as Fed Chair for a four-year term, and held a “cloture vote,” thus beginning the countdown, with the earliest possible approval on Wednesday local time for him to assume this leadership position. The current Chair Powell’s term will end on Friday.
