8.17 ETH$ETH short-selling strategy
Entry: Short near 1895‑1915
Defense: 1920
First target: 1886
Second target: 1878
After bottoming at 18680, the market staged a rapid rebound, but encountered clear resistance after rising to 18973. Selling pressure was released heavily after the surge, while the rebound lacked follow-through. 1895‑1915 is an important upper resistance zone, where positions trapped during the previous surge are concentrated. A return to this range will face substantial selling pressure. Only a high-volume move and sustained hold above 1920 can allow the bulls to reopen upsid

GM! A new week begins!
Passing by a small park, I saw a pond full of lotus flowers 🪷
Suddenly, I felt a little sense of happiness
Sometimes, simple beauty is right beside us
We rush toward our goals for the beauty we imagine, hurrying along
And miss what’s beside us, which was beautiful all along~

8/17 BTC outlook:
BTC is currently at 62880. The latest 4-hour candlestick opened at 63080 USD, reached a high of 63100, dipped to a low of 62673, and closed at 62880. The price has fallen below 63000 again, and the close was near the low of the candlestick, indicating that short-term selling pressure remains dominant.
After rebounding from around 62000 in late July to above 65000 in early August, BTC saw a clear pullback on August 10, then mainly consolidated within the narrow range of 62800-63300. The current pattern is closer to “low-level sideways consolidation after a rebound” and has not

Today’s BTC strategy was perfectly validated.
The market moved entirely according to the predicted rhythm. Without being distracted by intraday back-and-forth volatility, we positioned at the key resistance level, and the market pulled back as expected.
The market repeatedly shook out traders; stay firm in your own judgment $BTC $ETH

The market has opened. I just bought put options on eggs; this thing still has to hit new lows.
The rebound is weak now. A basic staple food for ordinary people like eggs cannot maintain high prices in the long term.

ETH can try going long at lower levels for now. Watch the support in the 1870-1840 range, as well as at 1785 and 1715. If support holds, consider buying low, with 30-400 points of upside.

$BTC
Market assessment:
BTC is currently trading in the lower-boundary zone of a large range ($62,500-$66,000). Bullish divergence has emerged on smaller timeframes, but capital flows remain weak, so the two have not yet formed a confluence.
Key trading points:
For longs, wait for a sustained move above $63,200/$64,000; for shorts, wait for a break below $62,500 or confirmation of resistance around $63,300. Do not chase trades in the middle zone.
Core risk control:
If $62,500 breaks, beware of the risk of a rapid decline to $61,000-$60,000; if $64,000 breaks upward, shorts should exit promptl

SanDisk’s August 5 earnings call and August 13 Investor Day disclosed nearly identical company fundamentals and financial information to the market, but the market reactions were diametrically opposed: the stock plunged 13% after hours on earnings day, then surged 13% after Investor Day. #股票交易分享挑战 SanDisk—A Group of Gamblers Standing Beneath the Fireworks on an Island
SanDisk’s August 5 earnings call and August 13 Investor Day disclosed nearly identical company fundamentals and financial information to the market, yet the market reactions were diametrically opposed: the stock plunged 13% after hours on earnings day, then surged 13% after Investor Day. This shows that in a rapidly changing market environment, similar news can indeed produce completely opposite moves when “old goods are put in new clothes.” We took a close look at what additions this “new outfit” made and what structural changes it introduced.
By contrast, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index has spent the past two days stuck at resistance with declining volume and stagnant gains, seemingly waiting for Nvidia’s earnings report on August 26 and the monthly OPEX expiration on August 21 to determine its direction.
When a stock can surge 22% in two days on the highest trading volume among all U.S. stocks, while the sector ETF it belongs to is drifting lower on declining volume, it means the price-discovery function has left funds sensitive to fundamentals and shifted into the hands of funds sensitive to volatility. The former buy companies; the latter buy price swings. The former wait for earnings, guidance, and the fulfillment of multiyear contracts; the latter wait only for the next person to take the asset off their hands at a higher price.
July as a whole marked the peak of the deleveraging in semiconductor memory stocks: leveraged long positions were liquidated, and forced-liquidation positions were dumped onto the market, creating a stampede. Once the bubble had been fully deflated, however, a short-squeeze-style oversold rebound emerged, leaving shorts trembling. The market seems to be staging a double blowup of longs and shorts. Once short covering reaches its critical point and the short squeeze exhausts its fuel, it will be a difficult moment to control.
The fireworks were brightest on August 13–14; their fuel will run out on August 21, the OPEX date; and they will be completely extinguished after NVDA’s earnings report on August 26. These three time gates will determine whether “the gamblers beneath the island’s fireworks” continue adding to their bets or rush for the exit.
If Philadelphia Semiconductor shorts still do not step up their covering after August 21, and Nvidia’s earnings report is bearish as expected, SanDisk’s short squeeze will become “the last fireworks on the island”—brilliant, brief, and with no one to carry the torch. SOXX shorts will wait for the day they get the “echo segment breakdown to the downside” they want.$SNDK

Early-Session Gold Opening Market Analysis
On Monday (August 17), spot gold opened at $4356.26 per ounce in the Asian morning session, about $20 below Friday’s close. After briefly dipping to around $4310, it quickly stabilized and rebounded, climbing to a high near $4396 and staging a textbook “opened lower and moved higher” move. As of 9:00 a.m. Beijing time, gold prices were fluctuating and consolidating in the $4370-$4380 range, up about 0.4% overall from Friday’s close and extending the strong pattern that followed last week’s V-shaped reversal.
Looking back at last week’s perf

Gold Outlook and Trading Recommendations for This Morning
The early-morning gold outlook has been perfectly validated, and today we still favor buying on dips!
Gold is currently at $4,411. Buyers are dominating the market, bullish momentum continues to be released, and the price has already climbed to a new high. Favorable factors on the larger time frame continue to support gold prices, short-term bullish sentiment is very strong, and buying pressure is still building.
After rising sharply for several consecutive sessions, the market has accumulated a large amount of profitable positions, mak
