Why May the Settlement Price Differ from the Price at the Official Settlement Time? | Gate

Because the upstream broker must process exercise and settlement in advance, Gate processes U.S. stock options settlement approximately 30 minutes before the official market settlement time.

The settlement price is not based on the latest traded price at the official settlement time. Instead, it is determined using the average underlying price during the 30-minute period before the official settlement time.

Therefore, the settlement price may differ from the underlying stock’s closing price, the price at the official settlement time, or the last traded price shown to users. Refer to the order and settlement records.
