Nankai University Associate Professor "Southwest Village Review" wrote an article exploring a highly imaginative question.

Imagine if all the training data, including over 80,000 volumes of the Tripitaka, tens of millions of characters of Sanskrit, Tibetan, and Chinese classics, along with Zen koans, the complex doctrines of the Yogācāra school, and even every detail of Tantric practices, were fed into a large model with hundreds of billions of parameters, what would happen?
Would this AI, which understands the Tripitaka and the twelve divisions and can answer any metaphysical question instantly, be a "Cyber Buddha" capable of saving all beings, or just a high-tech electronic wooden fish that only repeats logic?
Southwest Village believes that many people might get lost in the powerful logical output of AI, but they overlook a most fatal and fundamental truth in Buddhism: without the enlightenment of "embodied experience," it is merely an empty game of characters.
一、 AI与佛法在“无我”处的交汇
First, we must admit that the underlying architecture of AI, based on mathematical logic, is compatible with the core Buddhist doctrine of "anatta" (no-self). This is precisely why the concept of a "Cyber Buddha" is so alluring.
AI's no-self architecture
In Buddhism, the so-called "self" is dismantled into the "Five Aggregates"—form, sensation, perception, mental formations, and consciousness—as temporary collections. There is no eternal, independent, unchanging entity called "self."
Similarly, AI is the same. When you ask AI "Who are you," it does not have a centralized soul thinking. It is just countless weights and probability distributions emerging in an instant under electrical stimulation.
