Gold Financial reports that on May 14th, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee is scheduled to hold a key markup hearing this Thursday local time on the “Digital Asset Market Clarity Act” (referred to as the CLARITY Act), officially advancing this highly anticipated cryptocurrency market structure bill. 24 senators will discuss and vote on dozens of amendments to the bill text, and ultimately decide whether to submit the bill to the full Senate for consideration. If passed, the bill will still need to be integrated with the Senate Agriculture Committee version, and after votes and coordination between the House and Senate, it can be submitted for presidential signature to become law.
