CoinWorld News, according to The Washington Post, 29 members of Congress jointly wrote to U.S. Secretary of State Blinken, urging the U.S. to disclose Israel's nuclear weapons program. Since Israel's nuclear weapons program has been conducted secretly since the late 1950s, Israel has neither acknowledged nor publicly disclosed how such weapons are used. The lawmakers believe that under the serious threat of war with Iran and military escalation, the risks of misjudgment, escalation, and use of nuclear weapons are not just theoretical. The letter states, "Congress has a constitutional responsibility to fully understand the nuclear balance in the Middle East, the risks of conflict escalation by any party, and the government's planning and emergency measures in response to such situations."
