Golden Finance reports that on June 2nd, the CEO of the optical interconnect giant Marvell, Murphy, and Huang Renxun spoke on stage together.
The core consensus between the two CEOs is: the next decisive battlefield for AI infrastructure is not computing power, not memory, but connectivity.
Huang Renxun emphasized that as AI-generated tokens enter the profit phase, distributed "intelligent agent" computing has triggered a huge demand for high-speed interconnection.
Huang Renxun's strategic framework is straightforward: "Use copper cables where possible, and only use optical devices where necessary."
Marvell CEO Murphy pointed out that constrained by physical laws, the "copper cable boundary" is shrinking towards the inside of racks, and optical interconnect and CPO technology will usher in an explosion.
On the day of the conference, Marvell officially released a new 100T Ethernet switch designed specifically for AI data centers with the industry's lowest power consumption, and demonstrated a 51.2T switch based on CPO, which completely eliminates copper wiring at the board level.
