Golden Finance report, on May 14th, the President of the Boston Federal Reserve, Susan Collins, stated that if inflationary pressures do not subside, the Federal Reserve may need to raise interest rates. “Although this is not the most likely scenario in my forecast, I can foresee a situation where some policy tightening is necessary to ensure that inflation returns to the 2% level in a timely and sustained manner.” The outlook for FOMC monetary policy largely depends on the duration of the Middle East conflict, and it was noted that the longer the conflict persists, the greater the risk, especially regarding inflation.
