Huang Renxun previously stated that being invited to visit China would be an honor. Analysis indicates that his absence is mainly due to the escalating competition between China and the US in the AI field. Nvidia’s chips are caught in a dilemma of “the US may not want to sell, and China may not want to buy,” making it difficult to secure large orders and not aligning with Trump’s goal of securing big deals during this trip.
Washington think tank researcher Fedasik said that the US considers AI computing power as a key factor in competing with China and is unwilling to make concessions on AI chip exports. Shen Meng from Xiang Song Capital stated that the US uses AI technology as a bargaining chip to restrict China, while China has already launched domestically adapted chips for large models, significantly reducing Huang Renxun’s necessity to accompany the trip.
This visit by Trump will mainly focus on agriculture and commercial aviation, aiming to promote Boeing aircraft orders and advance the implementation of relevant details of the US-China Trade Committee.
